B Praak is a singer, composer and producer working in Punjabi and Hindi music. Known for his long collaboration with lyricist Jaani, he has won a National Film Award and two Filmfare Awards.

A Chandigarh music family

Born Pratik Bachan in Chandigarh, he is the son of Varinder Bachan, a producer and composer of Punjabi and Hindi pop, folk and devotional music. He started out as a music director under the name “Prakky B”.

Jaani and the hits

Teaming up with lyricist Jaani in 2012, he composed songs for Harrdy Sandhu, Jassie Gill, Amrinder Gill, Diljit Dosanjh and others — “Soch”, “Joker”, “Na Ji Na”, “Backbone” and more — before debuting as a singer with “Mann Bharrya” in 2018.

Into Hindi cinema

In 2019 he sang “Teri Mitti” in Kesari and songs in Good Newwz, and composed for Bala. He also produced the music of the Punjabi film Qismat, inspired by his song of the same name.
