How this list was made

We started from Pantheon’s Chandigarh page (23 people) and extended it with a Wikidata search for everyone recorded as born in Chandigarh with an English Wikipedia article, ranked by how widely they are covered. Someone appears under “Born in Chandigarh” only when Wikidata records it and their Wikipedia article supports it; where Wikipedia gives another birthplace but describes growing up here, they appear under “Raised in Chandigarh”. Every profile is written from the person’s public Wikipedia article, linked on their page, and was checked on 11 October 2026.

Gurmeet Choudhary is not included: Listed by Pantheon, but Wikidata and Wikipedia give his birthplace as Bhagalpur, Bihar. Dinesh Mongia, Yograj Singh, Vikas Sethi, Mahabali Shera, Ganemat Sekhon and Meenakshi Dixit is not included: Wikidata lists Chandigarh as their birthplace, but their Wikipedia articles don’t confirm a Chandigarh connection, so we have not included them yet. Aditya Puri is not included: Studied at Panjab University, Chandigarh, but was born in Gurdaspur district. Mamta Joshi, Rubina Shergill and Prashant Nair is not included: their Chandigarh connection is confirmed, but neither Wikipedia nor Wikidata gives a birth date yet.
